Description

an original canvas painting did in 92'.It won first place in the Airbrush Action Mag.national high school competition and was featured in the Feb. edition.
I took most of the basic concepts and redid them entirely in photoshop.I did a lot of foreshortening to it and skewed the perspective a little to give a more interesting composition, rather than flat and unappealing.
The tiger's features were influenced by Disney,if no other refs

If I were to nitpick, the highlights should have a less neutral color temperature, and could be a little harder-edged on the outside of the glass objects. All in all, awesome

A little too airbrush-y, and the color scheme a little too wobbly: it would benefit from a more consistent color scheme, with no neutral grays to begin with. Otherwise, not bad.

thanks again,--for the neutral gray comment ,you need to realize that neutral gray IS a part of the grade scale and everybodys art shouldnt be compared to yours-not everybody wants to be like you--(no contrast,no energy within the composition and characters, weak anatomy)on the contrary, all of your characters have that exact"airbrush-y"look to them too.---also,thanks for the "not bad".

Hey there tige who's it going?

feel the love in the air...

some notes:

- i do think that the teeth are a tad flat. considering the perspective, one should feel one teeth is closer or further away. and when you have the more dimensional lower gumline(?), the grey one right below the teeth, you wish a bit more depth could've been placed on the teeth somehow.

-i feel that the folds of his yellow ... err, what's it called... where his mane is... fluffy yellow. right... anyways, i think the folds could've been a less redundant. and it also seems to lack the sharpness seen on the head.

...there's definitely, imo, some inconsistencies in the sharpness of various elements in this drawing. but phbbt. hardly noticeable when you realize what a kick ass piece of art it really is.

oh, and i nearly forgot - the sheet patterns. nice ;)

Hey ... this is cool! Hey I know that tiger ... I was trying to name the show ... LOL then I read your deal saying you referenced the tiger from that show. What was the name of that show?

I really like this piece. It's very well put-together, very well composed. Good detail work. Personally I like a little more sparkle (...a couple people tell me I use too much sparkle, actually) but the detail is still awesomely done.

Very nice.
